How to make kayak roof rack loader

My daughter and I would like to share this easy to make kayak loader for under $25AU. All you need is 2x3m lengths of 90mm PVC storm water pipe, a hole saw drill bit and drill, and some straps.

Here is link to how we did it: DIY Kayak Boat Canoe Roof Rack Loader

Re: How to make kayak roof rack loader

Awesome instructional D.I.Y. @TopDadDIY.  Really impressed with how you've conveyed this project.

I've been considering how I'd single-handedly load a kayak onto the roof of my car, and it looks like you've come up with a perfect solution.

Keen to give this a go.

Many thanks for contributing your idea.

Well done @TopDadDIY:smile:

I watched your video (very well made) but I was amazed seeing on far right of my monitor dozens of methods and different devices for loading a kayak onto a car roof! Never owned a kayak - clearly one of life's problems, especially for the tall cars of today?

Did you see this one?

I liked his heat gun treatment to the ends of the PVC pipe. And the winch...

Re: How to make kayak roof rack loader

I confess my car is old so I'd have to change my roof-rack - if should I take up kayaking?

No Good?No Good?

Why does your rack want the kayak to rest on an angle? Is it designed for two people to lift - one at each end?

This looked good to - but very expensive?
