there's some peeling paint on our driveway - i reckon it's never been painted since it was built in 2008. The peeling has sort of smoothed itself out.
I was thinking of a good soap and pressure wash, and then using a tinted sealant to give it a small refresh
Would this work?
Hello @nithiyasv
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about refreshing your driveway.
To clean up your driveway, I suggest using - 30 Seconds 5L Outdoor Cleaner Concentrate in combination with an Oates Long Handle Deck Scrub Brush. Make sure to give the outdoor cleaner enough time to activate before you start scrubbing the driveway. Once you've finished scrubbing the driveway surface, I recommend washing it off with a pressure washer with a patio cleaner attachment.
I also suggest having a look at these discussions - Solved: Advice for painting existing concrete patio and garage by @sseb86 and Concrete repair and paint by @DexterOz. Technically speaking, the old paint on the surface must be stripped off so that the new paint layer will bond to the surface of the driveway. If painted over existing paint it's possible that the old paint will peel and take the new sealer with it. Please note that the warranty on the paint system may not apply as it is designed to go onto flat surfaces not stencilled driveways.
Here is a link to our best advice: How do you seal stencilled concrete?
I recommend having a look at the Dulux 4L Medium Tint Satin Concrete And Paving Coloured Sealer - 4L and the Berger Jet Dry 4L Heavy Duty Deep Charcoal Paving Paint.
