I have bought a H4 Kaituna solid post to be used as a fence post. It mentioned on the plastic wrapper that it should be treated with a suitable sealing agent or primer. I do not plan to paint it and would appreciate advice on the suitable sealing agent to use and why it is necessary considering it is already H4 rated.
In addition, is there any specific quickset concrete that is suitable for both timber and aluminum posts.
Hello @akoong
I'm afraid this is the only information I could get about the Kaituna posts on their website. "Like all Natural products – they have a tendency to react to the local environment. The protective wrap minimises warping and twisting and also protects the product during installation." I can only suggest following their recommendations as indicated on the instructions. I propose looking at using Cabot's 4L Natural Decking Oil to protect the post. Otherwise, you do have the option of exchanging it for a standard rough 100 x 100mm 2.4m Post H4 Treated Pine Wet CCA - 2.4m which does not need to be painted.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your response. Could I use the Cabot Aquadeck Decking oil instead because I have some left from oiling my deck.
Thanks
Alan
Hello @akoong (Alan)
Yes, you can use the Cabot's Aquadeck Decking oil on the condition that it has not yet expired or gone off.
