Can I use pocket hole joinery on Spectrite panels?

I recently built a student desk out of plywood and used pole screws for the joiner. Previously I have also built a TV Cabinet using pin hole screws. I intend to build a bedside table that incorporates a book shelf, drawer and shelf using specrite timber panels. My question is can I use pocket hole joinery on Specrite  timber panels.

Thank you

Max

G'day Max.....you certainly can. I'm assuming you are referrering to the 17mm sheets. I've used pocket hole screws on 17mm Spectate Panels many times 👍👍

Hi @Mission-Beach,

I agree with @DIY4Knuckleheds, you are OK to do that.

I don't do a lot with pocket hole stuff and could not justify the outlay cost.

I just bought the pocket hole drill bit.

And used a Whitco window winder to make a jig.

Hi Max (@Mission-Beach),

A shoutout to our helpful community members who’ve already shared their advice! Yes, you can definitely use pocket hole joinery on Specrite timber panels. It’s a great method for creating strong, clean joints without visible screws on the outside.

If you want to see pocket hole joinery in action, check out this helpful article: How to build a kids craft table with storage. It walks through the process using similar joinery techniques and could give you some useful tips for your bedside table project.

You’re on the right track — good luck with your build!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi DIY4Knuckleheads

Thank you for you advice. I will be using 18mm panels.

Hi AlanM52

Thank you for your response. Obviously you are a very inventive person. I have found through my so far limited use of  the pocket joint jig my  joinery has improved greatly and hopefully the initial cost will be offset by many great projects.
