Hi all
I’m planning to paint our outdoor wall and I’d like your advice on covering this hole. It’s a timber wall and the light was previously there but has since been moved.
Thanks
Hi @bardiab1985,
It could be a bit tricky because you'll need to add a backing of some kind, which means you'd need to touch the wiring behind the wall. To be safe, it would be best to turn your power off at the switchboard before doing any work and consider speaking with an electrician if you are uncomfortable with this.
To create a backing, I would suggest you use the technique @MitchellMc has demonstrated in How to repair a hole in an internal door, using a paint stirrer with liquid nails to glue it in place, then fill the hole with builder's bog.
Once the bog has been applied and has dried, give everything a sand with some 120 Grit Sandpaper, before painting with a suitable exterior paint.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
Thanks a lot, it’s very useful. I’ll fix it this week and let you know if there are any issues.

Bardia
