Hi I have a piece of metal that runs along the width of a window that I need to remove. It appears it is only held in place by 2 screws at each end, otherwise I think the piece of metal just sits flush against the window frame. The screws are in channels - see picture. What’s the best way of removing this? Was thinking a multi tool could be used to cut through the screw? Any advice ?

Unfortunately Eric @EricL my life is littered with poor tool choices.
Example - when Kmart decided to rid itself of hardware and tools they started selling boxed multi-tool sets for $5 each on clearance.
Thinking a bargain was to be had and I would never need to buy blades again - I bought 6 boxes.
The tool was good - the blades were rubbish. Cleverly, Kmart made the blade attachment fitting only for their blades.
Live and learn as they say - I still gotta lotta learning to do.
I'm with @Nailbag - the blade choice is significant.
Cheers.
(PS - if you want a box- let me know. 😁)
Hello @AP3
That's great to hear, I'm glad you got the fitting off safely and without incident.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thats excellent @AP3
I have always said a sharp blade in a basic saw will cut better than a dull one in a top of the range model. Good quality accessories are always a good investment. Last longer, do a better job with less effort.
