The Bunnings Workshop community can help with your home improvement projects.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Essdubbya. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for jumping straight into the discussion.
That's wonderful advice there and something to remember. It is all too easy to activate a device whilst fumbling and trying to change accessories.
We look forward to hearing all about your project and plans around the house and garden, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of inspiration for them within the community. Please reach out anytime you need assistance or have something to share.
Mitchell
I have been thinking about this for a while with the following personal thoughts that hopefully will encompass others that have been thinking along the same lines:
The usual general tips & tricks
DIY safety tips
DIY budget tips
DIY getting started
DIY repairs (mainly consumer products)
Domestic appliance tips
Tips on how to manage the boss lady 🙂
Smart Home stuff (lots of that)
Projects with features that also cope with ageing/disability
Repurposing ideas (don't throw that out)
Other uses for a particular product or item
My workshop, what I do/how it's setup.
I will kick-off with a few example posts.
Cheers
Plasterboard fasteners-
Below is my favourite one and for some reason is not well known.
Macsim Anka Plugs
(Note that image is not from the Bunnings website)
I have asked a question about that and @MitchellMc responded with this:
'As Macsim is one of our suppliers we can place a Special Order for them in the store if anyone is interested'.
That is good news because I am thinking other DIY'ers here would like to add that to their kit.
I'll be back with a tip about how to use that...
Cheers
Mailbox Delivery System-
Although mailbox alarms are available I decided to make make my own system with a real Ozzie flag 🙂
Interesting... my system is the opposite to the U.S. Postal Service where the flag indicates USPS carrier mail pickup.
This is just a overview with random work-in-progress photos.
This system is like a ongoing work-in-progress always fiddling but there are production versions out there actually assisting elderly family & friends for instance:
Delivery flag down no need to make the journey out the to check for mail.
Delivery flag up (by arrangement) phone neighbour who will collect next time they are out there.
Cheers
Hi Jason,
Regarding the Grid Connect discussion created by @CSParnell I also created a 'Resource Center' discussion and not sure why it ended up here at the end of the discussion.
Can you help?
