Hi there, I am looking to do some DIY projects. This includes sanding the existing skirting before re applying the paint, sanding a buffet table and dining table top, edges.
Please recommended what type of sander will be appropriate for these little projects.
Thanks
Hi sud,
Buy a 1/3 sander.
Plus some packs of sandpaper.
Like 80 and 120 grit.
Use regular sandpaper for the skirting boards.
I usually fold and tear a sheet in half then fold them again which is a good size for hand sanding or to use with a sanding block.
Cheers
Hi @sud,
@AlanM52 has already provided some excellent advice. A 1/3 sheet sander would be great for all of these projects.
A random orbital sander would also work well, but with them usually being round, they struggle in corners.

Thanks for your response. Would a 1/3 sander be appropriate for sanding this entry door? Please see the attached picture
Hello @sud
Yes, a 1/3 sander will work on the flat surfaces of your door. However, I recommend using a Josco 100mm Purple Multi Strip Disc or a Craftright 3 Piece Sanding Flap Wheel Set to get into the tight corners of your door. My best advice is to make sure not to use too much force to grind the deep corners of the door surface.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
