The Bunnings Workshop community can help with your home improvement projects.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @gill22. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about tinting windows.
Here’s a basic outline for DIY window tinting: first, clean the glass thoroughly so there’s no dust, grease, or residue. Measure and cut your tint film to fit the window, leaving a small margin. Spray the inside of the glass with a soapy water solution, then carefully apply the tint, starting at the top and smoothing it down as you go. Use a squeegee to remove bubbles and excess water, and trim any overhanging edges once the film is in place. Finally, let it cure for a few days before cleaning. These Pillar 7 Piece Window Film Applicator Kits are really handy and come with everything you need.
For a detailed guide, you can check out this article by @prettyliving and their D.I.Y. tinted windows, which walks you through the full process step by step.
