Hi, I'm very new to this community. Recently a mechanism that does the toilet flushing lever has broken. Picture attached is the same toilet in another bathroom but highlighted part that is broken. I was told that this toilet is too old and replacement parts are impossible to find now, and a brand new toilet is required.
Any suggestions please will be much appreciated before we make a new purchase
Hello @tzeherng
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your cistern flush.
Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing works must be carried out by a registered plumber for safety and compliance.
A possible replacement for the flush in your cistern are the Fluidmaster Dual Flush Toilet Cistern Valve And Button and the Kinetic 17 - 25mm Single Flush Outlet Valve. Both are designed to be retrofitted into older cistern sets. However, due to the complexity of the replacement procedure, it is best to have a professional plumber assess if the parts suggested will fit.
If the flushing mechanism can't be replaced, I can only recommend taking into consideration changing your toilet completely.
I also recommend checking out the stores Toilet Installation Service, especially if you are looking for a professional to install your toile suite.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hi Eric,
Thank you for your help. This is very useful.
Just so I am clear - Are you suggesting I might need both replacements or either one or the other?
Thank you.
Hello @tzeherng
It's one or the other but not both, I propose showing your plumber both options (on the website) and they can decide which one would be best suited to your cistern.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
