How to replace wall spout?

Re: Wall spout replacement

Hi folks,

I'm wanting to replace my wall spout but have a query regarding the length of the piping. My question is, I've seen a few videos of spouts being replaced but the piping is a lot longer than mine, would I be fine to install a new spout or would I first need the remove some concrete to have better accessibility to the pipe?

Re: Wall spout replacement

Hello @TJP

Thanks for sharing your question about your wall spout. It appears that there is a nut screwed onto the wall outlet of your spout. Aside from that, I believe the brass piece is long enough to attach a new spout even if you were to retile the wall. There should be no need to extend the threaded piece further. Can you please tell us what spout you have chosen? Once we see what spout you want to install, we'll be able to provide you with more advise in regards to its installation.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: Wall spout replacement

Hi Eric,

I appreciate your reply.

I am yet to purchase a spout as I thought there would be an installation issue due to the length of the brass piece.

First things first, I have purchased some CLR and a wire brush to help with the removal of the nut. Once i have done that, I will go ahead and choose a spout and upload a picture.

Regards,

T.
