How to stop cistern leaking into toilet bowl?

I have a Villeroy and Bosch cistern that is leaking water into the toilet bowl. The cistern internals are Geberit. I suspect that the washer is the problem and I want to replace it. I don’t know how to remove the internals to replace the washer. I have attached photos of the internals of the cistern. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff Travers

Re: Trying to stop cistern leaking into toilet bowl

Hi @jefftrav,

I recommend you have a quick read through this guide on How to fix a leaking toilet. A faulty inlet valve or a faulty outlet valve can cause water leaking into the bowl. The guide will show you how to determine which one it is.

I presume that to remove your outlet valve, you would first need to remove the inlet valve from the side of it by unclipping it. Once removed, that will allow the outlet valve to quarter turn anti-clockwise, releasing the locking tabs. If it won't turn, there might be other types of clips that need to be released lower down, allowing you to pull the outlet valve directly out.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Trying to stop cistern leaking into toilet bowl

Hi We have exactly the same issue...water is running under/through the outlet valve and into the toilet ..so bad we can't actually fill the cistern.

Did you just replace the washer? Thanks

Re: Trying to stop cistern leaking into toilet bowl

Hello @VargaLand

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us.

Let me tag @VargaLand to make them aware of your query. If it is the outlet valve, I suggest tyring to uninstall it from your cistern and replacing the seating washer. I propose looking at the Kinetic 65mm Geberit Washer as a possible replacement part.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
