Probably simple if you know how - but I don't know how!
Bathroom door handle is loose and I'm trying to get to the screws to tighten it all up.
It looks like a circular cover plate could be unscrewed to expose the screws that attach the handle to the door. But I can't for the life of me get it to budge.
Am I missing a trick or so I just need to apply some elbow grease?
Photos below - any help or link to a similar handle with installation instructions would be much appreciated!
Keep pulling on that cover plate - it will come off.
It's only held in place by friction from an O-ring.
You also seem to be missing the locking pin?
It looks very much like my Gainsborough handles - from Bunnings.
Hello @VincentK
Excellent advice from @Noyade. Make sure your hands are very dry and you get a good grip on the cover plate. Wiggle it back and forth until it starts to move and comes off. Once the cover plate is off you then simply tighten the mounting screws of the door handle.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks very much for the advice Noyade - that worked a treat!
Looks like a fair amount of paint was stick the cover plate to the o-ring.
I was a bit afraid to brute force it - but with your advice I did just that.
Thanks again!
Thanks for response and confirming Noyade's advice.
It worked and all is well with my bathroom!
Thanks again!
