I'm interested in buying this rotary hammer drill.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1500w-5j-rotary-hammer-drill-kit-rhd-1550_p0382377.
One question though. Does the chisel still randomly rotate as you chisel?
A couple of the reviewers say yes.
But this was two years ago.
Cheers.
I actually find the wording of my query very hard.
What happens in chisel mode is the tip rotates in any angle it wants - you cannot lock it. It can move around 360 degrees as you chisel.
But you said it best @Nailbag.
"In the case of the Ozito model it doesn’t have this feature so the chisel should be fixed."
I went to Bunnings - tried to explain the query, to no avail - but in the end the staff member was more than happy to open the box so I could explain.
As a result we both agreed.
The chisel in hammer function is not fixed.
It is not a fault, just simply the design Ozito went with.
And the reviewer above is absolutely correct, the older version has the rotation lock - because I have it (circa 2009?).
What I wanted was the variable speed in this model.
Another reviewer...
No sale.
😔
Hi @Noyade,
I understand what you're saying. It wouldn't really be an issue with a pointed chisel, but with flat chisels, it certainly would be.
It does seem like they have removed the rotation lock for a reason I am not sure of.
I will reach out to them for their comment.

Hi @Noyade
Unfortunately some powertool product managers don't have an understanding of what features, specs etc are important to end-users and as such your situation occurs. The other reason is for cost cutting to meet a specific retail price-point. I bought a 2nd twin battery charger as backup because it charges both batteries at the same time. The new model to keep the same price point only does one at a time so, twice as long.
