I am fitting VJ Panelling on the roof of my campervan and need to join two panels together at the ends. I have searched for a 9mm jointer but can’t find anything available. Can you please suggest how I can join the ends of the 9mm VJ panelling.
thank you
Des
Hi @desross
VJ is designed to simply interconnect without using a plastic strip, hence why you can't find anything off the shelf. I can't find the exact product link for you, but if you check out joining a weather joint strips for external hardy boards. there are a range of styles and dimensions which you should find one suitable.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @desross. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about joining panels.
Provided the panels are supported behind, you can use a timber coverstrip to conceal the join, giving you a neat finish. You could also simply butt the sheets up against each other and fill the gap. What's behind the sheets, and is the join supported at all?
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mitch, there is nothing behind the join as it’s between roof beams so yes I thought of glueing another piece of panelling across the end of one sheet so it protruded enough to support the end of the other sheet when they are joined. Fill the joint and paint over.
thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you Nailbag exactly what I’m looking for but can’t find a 9mm specific profile.
