I’ve just bought my first house and need to invest in a lawn mower. We have an average sized backyard and there’s also some grass out the front but my needs are pretty modest. I have no idea what to look for. Can anyone give me some advice? I’m particularly confused on the benefits/drawbacks of 2-stroke versus 4-stroke. And are electric mowers now worth considering?

Hi Deanna,
Good to hear that someone else went for an Ozito electric lawnmower from Bunnings too. I love mine. I wear the extension cord as a fashion item - draped across my shoulders! I did think about a battery operated mower, but this little mower won me over.
Happy mowing, Maggie
Hello @Maggie24
Let me tag @Deanna to make them aware of your kind comments. Battery technology and capacity have come a long way since it first started. Battery-powered mowers start at 18V all the way up to 58V and higher. They are now built to handle almost any lawn condition.
It's great that you've found an electric mower that's right for you and your lawn. However, if you ever decide to upgrade your mower, please let us know. Our members will be more than happy to provide you with advice and information.

On the subject of lawnmowers.
This Rover was purchased 21 years ago and still going strong.
It has a battery starter - so there is a battery involved. 👍
Hi,
I have 70sqm area of grass. With my budget of 400 mark, what is the best option to buy Battery or Electric or petrol lawn mower?
I had cheap Aldi battery based and it used to give few headache with battery charging and what not.
I could do grass cut if it is wet or little above average.
What is your suggestion?
Hello @imcodebased
I propose looking at investing in an Ozito PXC 18V 300mm Brushless Lawn Mower 4.0Ah Kit PXCLMK-1418. I have this unit at home and is very reliable, easy to charge and can cut through tall grass when done in the recommended manner. It is rated for a lawn area of 200m squared so should be able to manage 70 square meters. The best part is that its battery is included in the Ozito PXC range and is therefore compatible with all the tools in that range such as the drills, circular saws and gardening equipment.

Hi @imcodebased,
Yes, the Ryobi 18V ONE+ 37cm HP Brushless Lawn Mower 4.0Ah Kit is $399, and it includes the battery. It's also a great machine and will suit your needs.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi
Can anyone recommend a light and easy to operate mower for a very small area (just the nature strip area). Not sure which one is easy to use as well as being effective .. appreciate any suggestions.
thanks
Hello @madonna31
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about lawn mowers.
I propose looking at the Ozito PXC 18V 330mm Brushless Lawn Mower 4.0Ah Kit PXLMK-1833. This would be the perfect mower for you if you are only maintaining the nature strip near your home. This is a compact lightweight unit that still has the features of a full-fledged mower. It has a larger cutting width which is 330mm, a 5-Position height adjustment that allows you to cut your grass to the desired height. A 30 Litre grass catcher with a capacity level indicator collects clippings to give your lawn that perfect, neat and tidy finish and a full handle lever switch with a safety start button.
It comes with the battery and charger, so you don't have to purchase it separately and it is rated to maintain an area of 200 square meters.
