Hello I’m really struggling on how to approach this issue and what’s the easiest way to solve it. I don’t know much about this work at all:(
The left of my kitchen pantry door is still attached on but the top hinge is torn out ( first 2 photos)
the right pantry door is completely off with the top hinge also off
I’m not sure whether to completely fill the holes and restart, or if using a hinge plate would be easier? I’m also not sure how to figure out what hinges these are or screws etc. some of the screws are stuck in their place too
Any help is appreciated !!!
Hello @sophie1199
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your pantry door hinges.
Looking at the hinges you currently have they appear to be an older model. Modern kitchen hinges come with push on to clip mounting mechanisms, and they are no longer manually mounted. Because of this it will be necessary to change all of your hinges in order to mount your pantry door properly.
Your pantry door also has the traditional plastic dowel inserts on the door side. These will need to be replaced with either the Hafele 9.5 x 5mm Expanding Dowel - 60 Pack or the Blum Plastic dowel inserts (special order). You'll need to measure the holes on the door so that you can get the correct one.
Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to replace kitchen cabinet door hinges.
