Barn door makeover

Changing the colour of our ensuite door to look better.

Materials

Primer

Matt paint

Tools

Paint brush

Sand paper

Screwdriver

AEG Electric screwdriver

Plastic window packers

Steps

Step 1

First I took the door down. Unscrewed the handles. I sanded the door lightly, and wiped it clean.

Step 2

Second step is to add primer and the first coat of paint. I think matt black is hard to paint. You can see all the brushstrokes. I applied 3 layers of paint to make it look good. Screw the handles back on.

Step 3

Door back to the metal track. This would have been a simple task but we had to adjust the height of the track because of our new floors. New screw holes and patch the old screw holes in the concrete wall. Then add a little bit of paint. Place the track back on and adjust the screws from the door so the door moves smoothly. I used plastic window packers underneath to adjust the hangers on top.

Step 4

Place the cover on top. I painted it as well. And vóila you have a different look in your room.
