My partner and I set out to give our bedroom a makeover by upgrading our wardrobe, adding some paneling and some fresh paint.
Flat pack wardobe
Easycraft panelling
Framing timber
Oak timber shelf
Paint
DIY shutters
Prepare to dismantle old wardrobe and remove all clothes
Dismantle and remove existing built in wardrobe
Build flatpack wardrobe bases. Making sure during the design phase to order flatpack sizes that will maximise the space available and fill out as much space as possible.
Remove existing skirting and build frame for paneling, attaching to the wall with brackets
Attach easycraft panels with nail gun and liquid nails and paint
Using a cover panel the same colour as the flatpack, cut to size and attach the side of the wardrobe to give illusion of built in wardrobe. Cut oak ledge to size and complete painting making sure to caulk and fill any gaps around the wardrobe cover panels
Paint and reinstall skirting in front of paneling. Install custom ordered DIY shutters
Enjoy!
What a remarkable bedroom makeover @cassieandrews! The decision to upgrade your wardrobe, add paneling, and apply fresh paint has made a significant impact on the space. You have truly elevated the room and achieved a polished result.
Well done on creating a stylish and inviting bedroom!

Hi @cassieandrews , Enjoy for sure, congratulations on doing such a great job, well done. Great colour choice and design.
What a gorgeous makeover - love that you maintained the integrity of the ceiling and didn't cover it up! Beautifully done.
