@Jason Like most of my creations it was a bit of an experiment. I used cheap pine lengths for the struts up the side and painted them white with a simple undercoat, then sanded that back to make it look slightly older and distressed. The shelves themselves were treated pine that I painted different colours - just using sample pots made up at Bunnings. I sanded these back too to look vintage. I also put the shelves on castor wheels and used some scaffolding joints near the bottom to give an industrial look. Then on the bigger shelves I attached a metal grid at the back of the shelves and threaded Christmas lights through this. I guess the look is punky, industrial, vintage but playful.
