Hi everyone
I have a varnished furniture item i would like to sand and restore to white top and a satin stained bottom. (Photos of the finish I am aiming for)
What white paint would you recommend and which satin stain would you recommend?
Hi @nicksom,
The top appears to be a clear, satin varnish such as this Cabot's Satin Water Based Cabothane Clear Polyurethane. I don't think there is a stain added.
A hard-wearing enamel paint is always good for furniture. This specific paint looks like a low-gloss finish. Something like this Dulux Low Gloss Aquanamel Paint would work well and would be very similar to the finish in the inspiration image.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Do you recommend a priming the wood before the low gloss?
An so you recommend a Vivid white or ? A different white?
Hello @nicksom
It's always best to prime the surface of your furniture, I recommend using Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat 1L. There are many shades of white and colour preference is a very personal matter. I suggest visiting your local store and looking at the colour card catalogue and see which white suits your needs.
