Plant stool

As a novice here I’m enjoying the process of learning my newfound hobby. This project was a stool to be used for a plant to sit on (not quite ready for one that a person would sit on). It’s a simple pine stool using a 1.2m dowel from Bunnings cut in three. I used an auger bit to cut the holes in the top, which I required me calling back upon high school maths to figure out where they were to go (which was actually enjoyable). I sanded the edges to round them off and used linseed oil to finish it off. I’m pretty happy with the result (and so is my cat apparently).1A37F9EC-4878-4A53-96E4-72FCB5A11BF6.jpeg

Re: Plant stool

Looks fantastic @TheCouchman. Very well done!

I don't think you can call yourself a novice any more. Members will be asking you for tips and advice.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Plant stool

One tip I have been given is that when you use tenons that the wedge goes across the grain to avoid the chance of splitting along the grain.
