Treated or untreated Pine for bedhead?

Treated or untreated Pine for bedhead?

I'm planning on making a built-in bedhead with 90x45mm pine for the framing along with some VJ paneling for the front. Likely use some oak timber for the top of the bedhead and match with some bedside tables which I'm planning to fix to the bedhead so they're 'floating' in a sense.

My question is, which type of 90x45mm pine should I use? Looking at this but unsure if I need to use treated pine instead?  https://www.bunnings.com.au/90-x-45mm-framing-mgp10-untreated-pine-2-4m_p8030079

Re: Treated or Untreated Pine?

Hi @dabroa,

That untreated Pine would be the way to go. It's best not to use treated timber in items like bedheads. The fewer chemicals around where you sleep, the better.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
