My toilet seat is loose. How do i tighten it?
Afternoon @Anne-Marie1
It's a tough ask - but can you 'reverse' your phone camera, with illumination - and take a photo of the locking mechanism underneath?
Unfortunately its bolted to the wall
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Anne-Marie1. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about tightening a toilet seat.
Since you can’t access any securing nuts underneath, your toilet seat is most likely fixed into the pan with compression fittings that tighten and expand from the top. On either side of the toilet seat (as marked in the image), there should be two chrome buttons. Press both buttons in at the same time and, while doing so, lift the seat upwards — the buttons release the locking mechanism for the seat.
Once the seat is removed, inspect the chrome cover flanges and take them off. Underneath, you should find the fittings that secure the seat to the toilet. Tighten these fittings to secure the seat, then reinstall the cover flanges and click the seat back into place.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
