How to install Foilboard garage insulation?

I am looking to buy Foilboard Green 25mm for Garage door insulation - https://www.bunnings.com.au/foilboard-green-25-x-2400-x-1200mm-insulation-panel_p0125959

I have three queries:

1. Should I face the shiny side away (so when Garage closes, I see Green side) or should it be Green touching the door and when Garage door is done, I see all shiny white?

2. Any guide to cut? For example how should I measure? Left and right seems to be okay as my Garage does not have a deep slot in left and right, so that will be cut to exact size, but then top and bottom how to measure as if it's big, it won't go inside, if it's small, it will have movement and heat or cold may escape?

3. Should I tape around after inserting the foil boards, any images and which tape to use? Kindly suggest link to tape and how it should look after taped. I think by putting tape it may achieve better insulation?

Added my Garage images.

Thanks for taking time to answer.

Re: Garage Insulation

Hello @amundra (Ashish)

Thank you for sharing your question about insulating your garage door. The Foilboard Green 25 x 2400 x 1200mm Insulation Panel is a good insulation panel and can be cut using an ordinary Craftright 18mm Snap Off Knife. In regards to cutting size, I suggest measuring the panel to the size of your garage panel so that you effectively have low waste. It's best to cut it for maximum coverage so that there will be very little gap. I recommend facing the shiny side towards your garage door so that it reflects the heat away from your garage. In regards to the tape, I suggest using Foilboard 48mm x 66m Green Joining Tape for the green side to cover any joints.

I also propose looking at using GI Building Sciences 10mm 0.5 x 24m 12m² Reflecta Garage Door Insulation as an alternative as it designed specifically for garage doors.

Here are some discussions regarding insulating garage doors:

A note to our New Zealand readers: The use of foil-based insulation products is prohibited.

Thanks Eric, I will get the new insulation you linked up here and see how it goes.
