In January 2020, I had the slab laid for my shed. The intention was to have my mates help me get this built over the next 12 months.
I had a big delivery of the steel, timber, and roof sheets turned up in early March, and I was ready to go. Then Covid happened, and I ended up having to do it all myself, except for the plumbing and electrical.
It took 2 and a bit years, but I got there.
I did a test fit to make sure there were no surprises once I was assembling it on the posts. Each of the black rafters was 120kg
With the frame up and the roof on it was time to clad the outside.
Finally finished and ready to start getting stuck into some projects.
I can avoid having to go inside dirty and dusty.
I'm looking forward to working in this space and getting stuck into the projects I promised I'd get done once I had a shed.
Thanks @theparlourroom for the kind words. Yes I’m definitely proud I was able to get this done.
Awesome! And really inspiring
So cool. Bloody well done. Did you need council approval for this?
Im looking at building my own custom shaped shed with colourbond, and need a slab done. Nowhere near the size of yours, maybe 4m x 3m. Just wondering if I need to approach council first and how complicated that process is. Based in Perth
Hello @brennanm
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us.
Let me tag @Starkers_17 to make them aware of your kind words and question. Technically your floor area is larger than 10 square meters and it might need a permit. Just to be on the safe side, I would look online or visit your local council so that you can get all the information you need before you begin your project. In this manner there will be no surprises as you build your shed.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
