Bright coastal makeover for dark and dated kitchen

We’re so happy with the result of our Kitchen Makeover. To create a new bright modern, coastal look on a budget for our kitchen we:

- Painted all cupboards using White Knight Tile & Laminate Paint in ‘Cotton Ball’

- Replaced benchtops with a ‘Think Benchtop’ in ‘Bianco’ 38mm

- Installed VJ paneling on front of bench

- Replaced appliances

- Installed new white sink & brass mixer

- Replaced cupboard handles

- Replaced tiles
- New rattan stools from Bunnings

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Aleishacorr. It's amazing to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing your project.

This is an extraordinary transformation, and I trust you are thrilled with the finish. I love everything about it, and I think you've done an exceptional job. You certainly nailed the bright modern and coastal look brief.

Did you have any hiccups along the way, or was it all smooth sailing?

I can't wait to see your next project. Well done.

Re: Bright coastal makeover for dark and dated kitchen

Thanks Mitchell! We’re so happy with the result! It was mostly all smooth sailing I believe, we could have had a bit of a hiccup with the vj paneling, my partner had cut it to size & painted it, just before installing my dad suggested go my partner that they should hold it up to make sure it fit before glueing & lucky they did because a section has to be cut shorter! Crisis averted lol

@Aleishacorr

Hi. I love the panelling! I am planning to add panels under the bench top, so your sharing is so helpful.

Did you paint the bench top ? What paint did you used? Thanks

Re: Bright coastal makeover for dark and dated kitchen

Hello @ritcho

Let me tag @Aleishacorr to make them aware of your kind words and questions. I believe they used White Knight 1L White Renew Tile And Laminate Paint in Cotton Ball. The benchtop was actually replaced with Think Solid 38mm Custom Made Benchtop - Bianco. However, if you wish to paint your benchtop, I suggest using Dulux 1L Renovation Range Tiles & Benchtops Gloss White in combination with Dulux 1L Renovation Range Clear Coat Gloss.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
