What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Looking for how we can accomplish a fully built-in look with Kaboodle design.  I really like this board off pinterest, however the full lenght cupboard needs to be much wider to accommodate, vacuum cleaner, exercise equipment, like yoga mat, exercise ball etc.  Also need about 700m underbench clearance for a chair and sewing machine on bench.  The overhead cupboards are perfect, as it the oven shelving exactly as it is in the photo.

Area for cabinetry is width 250 x height 2450 x depth approx 550, can be deeper depending on what is available with Kaboodle.  Photos attached of current room and what design I would like.  Thank you - looking forward to some advice

Re: What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Hello @Larraine

The Kaboodle cabinetry can be arranged to look exactly like the picture you've posted. I just wanted to verify the room space is 5500mm length x 2500 wide and 2450 high. Did you want cabinets or pantries at the narrow end of the room wall? Are you changing the cabinets on the other side where the window is? Once you provide me with this information, we'll be able to draw up a sample sketch of the room.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Hi Eric sorry for the delayed reply.  Yes I had made a typing error.  It should read. 2500mm width, by 2450 height, and the width of the cabinetry is 550mm depth.   Not replacing the built-ins on the opposite side.  Just removing the buffet and having builtins for that wall.  Hope this makes sense. Id like it to look very similar in design to the Pintrest picture, however I would want the full height cupboard to be much wider - 900 - 1000 mm, to accommodate upright vacuum brooms and some basic gym equipment. So limited shelving required in the cupboard.

Hi @Larraine,

@EricL will be online later this afternoon.

As he is the master of this kind of design work, I will leave it to him.

Please bear with us.

Re: What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Hello @Larraine

My apologies for the late reply. The Kaboodle cabinetry can be made to look like the photo you posted in your first post. But certain parts will need to be built from scratch, the bulkhead cover over the pantry, the long timber cabinet shelf under the wall cabinets. Plus, the Kaboodle cabinetry are just a tad deeper as the wall cabinets are at 320mm deep, the drawer cabinet is 580mm and the pantry is 600mm deep with doors on.

But other than that, everything else is flat pack cabinetry. I propose visiting your local store and speaking to the in-store kitchen specialist in regards to the cabinet colour. If you are really keen to match it, I can only suggest getting raw doors and painting them to match the picture. I've placed a sample image below to give you an idea of how the cabinets can be assembled together.

Please let me know if wish to change the layout.

Re: What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Thank you Eric,  That looks pretty good.  I may mirror the design and have the large cupboard on the opposite side.  Re colour scheme, it would have to complement the opposite side.    Ive also made a huge mistake with the width of the room.  It is 3000mm wide.  This is going to make a significant difference to the layout.  So do you suggest I take this plan into Bunnings where somebody will be able to come up with a suitable design to fit the space?

Re: What study space solution to create an additional creative and storage space?

Hello @Larraine

The extra 500mm will actually be to your advantage as you can get equal sized wall cabinets. You'll also be able to use the full length of the timber benchtop. this will give you extra leg space on either side or you can get a larger drawer if you wish. I recommend going to your local store and speaking to the in-store kitchen specialist and showing them the drawing. They'll be able to give you an updated version along with a quote for the materials.
