How to remove scuff marks on timber floor?

Hi,first post.

I recently bought some black rubber floor protector cups from Bunnings (38ml i think) for our dining room chairs to protect the timber panel floor.

I was shocked to find that the black rubber cups actually left score/scuff marks on the floor instead of protecting it so put felt tips on which work good but move and allow the same thing to happen again.

I've tried everything,toothpaste,WD40,baking soda mix,a rubber, magic eraser, tennis ball, fine scours to remove them and all they have done is dulled the scuffs a little.

Looking for suggestions to remove them completely?

Re: How to remove scuff marks on timber floor?

Good Afternoon @LP100

Mmmm I have used the magic eraser on similar surfaces and it went well, Im not sure what else could work to totally remove the marks. I was going to suggest the wax pencils that you melt onto the floor so it covers scratches but your case is different.

I use this product OCedar 450ml Clean and Shine Timber Floor Cleaner when ive cleaned my floorboards. It works very nicely and dont remember any scuff marks afterwards. I do note that the floor is extreemly slippery afterwards lol to the point of dont wear socks type deal. tempted to go see if I can remove a scuff mark.... MMMM be right back!

Ok, tested out two spots  Good news and bad news tho hoping your scuffs might not be scratches.

First batch I did on what I thought was a black scuff mark... Its a scratch lol but it did reduce the actual look of it.

The scuff definently polished out, I had umpteen trys of trying to take a pic but couldnt figure out where it was lol

That roughness in the top left is a mark in the varnish from when it was done. Im using that as a reference point

Better product shot lol It may be worth a go. I used one of those soft multi coloured cloths you buy in the bunnings multipacks and just used my thumb and rubbed in a circle over it. You could feel the change as you polished.
