Hi there,
I'm going to install a folding desk on the inside brick wall of my garage. I will be using a drill with hammer mode. I also have a level. The desk will be used for light craft applications and won't be exceeding 20kgs of items on it at a time. When upright, I want the surface to be roughly 80cm up from the ground so that it can be used from a seated position.
I'm looking to purchase the following –
Carinya Folding Spring Loaded Bracket x2

Specrite 1200 x 600 x 18mm Golden Teak Acacia Panel

I have a few questions and would be grateful for any help before I get started –
Thank you!
Hi @CROBBO,
It would physically fit in the chuck, but the prongs may line up awkwardly with the slots in the SDS bit, which can cause it to wobble.
I'd also be very careful if there is any wobble, as there's a chance it could snap, which would leave you with a drill bit stuck in the wall.
You could give it a try, but I'm not sure how effective it would be. If you wanted to be more certain, the 2-cut bit is made for this style of chuck, so it would give you more surety, at the expense of a bit of effort.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
